Carpinteria School District: Board Members and Meeting Dates
The Carpinteria Unified School Board meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday on Zoom for now at 5:30 p.m, Board meetings are televised on live on Channel 21. The public is welcome.
Members of the public have the opportunity to directly address the Board on any item described in the notice for this meeting before the Board’s consideration of that item.
Those wishing to attend or address the Board at the meeting can do so by submitting an email to: mthomas@cusd.net by 3:00 pm the day of the meeting. The email should include name, phone number and a statement of the subject to be presented, (Govt Code Sec. 54954.3). The Board President will call each person who submits an email. Unless otherwise determined by the Board, each person is limited to three minutes. You will receive via email the link to join the Zoom meeting.

The School Board meets on the second Monday of each month in the school auditorium at 6:00 p.m, over Zoom unless noted. General session meetings are open for public attendance. Special meetings may be called as needed. The public may submit written comments to the Board up until the start of the Board Meeting. Written comments should be submitted to cgodlis@coldspringschool.net before 5:00PM of the day of the board meeting. Written Public Comments must identify the name, physical address, and an e-mail address where the interested party may be contacted. These comments will be read to the Board by a staff member during the Public Comment portion of the Board meeting. Comments submitted on specific agenda items will similarly be read during the Board’s consideration of that agenda item. Once the board meeting begins, no further public comments via e-mail will be accepted.

City Council meetings are typically held on Tuesdays at 2:00 pm in Council Chambers, located upstairs in City Hall https://www.santabarbaraca.gov/gov/cityhall/council/meetings/videos/default.asp
At the beginning of the 2:00 p.m. session of each regular City Council meeting, and at the beginning of each special City Council meeting, any member of the public may address the City Council concerning any item not on the Council's agenda. Public comment for items on the agenda will be heard during the portion of the meeting when the particular item is being discussed. Any person wishing to address the Council with a public comment should first complete and deliver a “Request to Speak” form prior to the time that public comment is taken up by the City Council. Should City Council business continue into the evening session of a regular City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m., the City Council will allow any member of the public who did not address them during the 2:00 p.m. session to do so. No individual speaker may speak for more than 3 minutes about an item not on the agenda. For items on the agenda, each speaker is allotted 3 minutes for public comment, which may be extended by an additional 2 minutes if another audience member who is present at the time wishes to proxy his/her time to the speaker. No individual may speak for more than 5 minutes for items on the agenda. The City Council, upon majority vote, may decline to hear a speaker on the grounds that the subject matter is beyond their jurisdiction.
The City Council cannot discuss matters presented by speakers during general Public Comment per the Brown Act.
A member of the public may address the Finance or Ordinance Committee or City Council regarding any scheduled agenda item. Any person wishing to make such address should first complete and deliver a “Request to Speak” form prior to the time that the item is taken up by the Finance or Ordinance Committee or City Council.
